Ski chalets in Lapland
Booking a stay in a cosy, self-contained home-away-from-home can be just the ticket for a fantastic week in Lapland.
Catered chalets are a popular way to spend a winter holiday, with the added bonus of all the catering and cleaning being taken care of by your very own chalet hosts. Though you’ll find hundreds in countries like France and Austria, there isn’t an abundance of chalets in Lapland.
Here it’s more about log cabins – and if you like the sound of staying in a traditional wood-clad building, wilderness all around and a good chance of spotting the northern lights overhead, you’ll love them. To top it off you’ll have the cabin to yourself, and some come with private saunas and log fires...
Lapland’s log cabins tend to come on a self-catered basis, kitted out with kitchens where you can cook up your favourite foods. With some properties, you can pay a bit more for a half board package where breakfasts and dinners are included in a local hotel.
For an idea of the things you can expect, have a look at the Saariselkä Log Cabins and Levi Log Cabins. If you’d like to see other types of accommodation in our Lapland ski resorts, we have some wonderful hotels and apartments too.
