Self-catering accommodation’s a no-brainer if you’re after the freedom to enjoy your holiday at your own pace!

The Ylläs Saaga apartments are a popular choice for those going self-catering. Located in Ylläsjarvi, they’re right next to the lifts and are even ski-in/ski-out – perfect for the kids and avid powder-heads! Äkäs Alp meanwhile has some properties in Akaslompolo which are beside the bus stop and a 5 minute walk from the village centre. If you fancy something a bit more authentic (we are in Lapland after all...), have a look at some of our log cabins, like these, which are also self-catered as well as looking like a scene straight from a Christmas card – some even have log fires and saunas!
