Salla ski apartment holidays

Most apartments in Salla come in the form of log cabins which offer a perfect escape at the foot of the Salla fell. The semi detached Salla Cabins come in a variety of sizes and can sleep groups of up to 8. If you want a night off cooking, the Kiela restaurant (we’ve heard it’s the best place to eat in Salla) is only 5 minutes away. The Sallainen cabins are right next to Lake Keselma and the cross-country runs – useful if that’s what you wanted to get involved in. The Revontuli Cabins are modern buildings with only a 2 minute walk to the ski lifts and nearest restaurant and bar and the Kelorinne Cabins are similar distance but more traditionally built.

The best thing about them is that it is extremely rare to come across a cabin that is not equipped with sauna or a wood fire. Warm up in the sauna and relax your muscles after a husky or reindeer ride and snuggle up in front of the fire with a hot chocolate (or something stronger) with a good book. Some properties come with drying cabinets which can be incredibly handy in saving you from a damp ski jacket scenario (not fun in Lapland’s sub zero climate). The best thing about staying in a cabin is that you get a totally self-run schedule. Salla is a quiet resort aimed to make you feel like you’re in the ‘middle of nowhere’ and a self-catered cabin will only add to that. You also get to cook for yourself - supplies can be found in the town 10km away (via the bus) or the shop at the Hotel Revontuli provides the essentials.
