Ruka ski apartment holidays

Apartments are the perfect way to go if you prefer to manage your own schedule. You have the freedom to cook your own meals and also have a chance to sample local restaurants in the evenings. Popular dinner spots in Ruka include the classy Chalet Ruka Peak, serving cocktails and expertly cooked local dishes, and the unique Riipinen Wild Game Restaurant where you may be able to sample reindeer, elk and even bear! There is a well-stocked supermarket in the centre of the village, too, for essentials and those nights when you’d prefer to eat in.

Some apartments offer facilities to rival hotels, such as restaurants, bars, private saunas and hot tubs. One of our favourites is the contemporary Ruka Ski Chalets complex, situated in the centre of the village where you can ski straight to the door. For peace and quiet, look at the Maston Aitio cabins located a little way from town in a peaceful, scenic location that’s still close to the slopes. After something more traditional? The cosy Ruka Log Cabins should fit the bill nicely.

Apartments can be booked as part of a package including flights and transfers – or channel crossings for self-drivers. You can also book apartments independently if you prefer to make your own travel arrangements.
