The wonderful thing about apartments is that they let you plan your holiday the way you like it – cook your favourite meals, eat out all week, or work out a perfect mix of the two. Shops like the Geilo Handelslag Spar (on the Geilovegen road) are on hand for picking up groceries and there are plenty of places to eat out. We like the Tartiner Bakeri for breakfasts, while Sofias is good for a lunchtime sarnie and Hallingstuene does great Norse suppers.

The Forest Cabins are gorgeous log cabins surrounded by trees – a cosy place to come home to at the end of a day on the slopes. You don’t have to walk far to get home either, with most cabins within 50 to 200 metres of the ski lifts and ski school. Standard apartment style lodging can be found at the Havsdalsgrenda Apartments, which have the bonus of being ski in, ski out, right on top of the mountain and next to the ski lifts.
