An overnight stay in a Glass Igloo in Lapland is truly a once in a lifetime bucket list experience. The Igloo sites in Lapland are built away from the busy towns and light pollution to increase your chances of seeing the Aurora Borealis. Obviously, the Northern Lights cannot be guaranteed with them being a natural phenomenon, but if seeing them is one of the reasons you are visiting Lapland then an overnight Igloo stay must be on your to do list!
With the Igloo sites being in the middle of the wilderness and away from the towns and cities there is not much else to do other than having dinner on site and spending time chilling and unwinding in the cosiness of your private Igloos. Through ourselves Igloos can only be booked onto seven-night holidays and as a 1-night excursion, if you are booked onto a short Santa Break you just do not have enough time with all your other excursions.

Overnight stays in an igloo in Lapland
These overnight Igloo stays can be pre-booked, but the exact day of the week will be confirmed within 3 working days of booking. Prices range throughout low and high season and on the different types of Igloos, but you are looking at around £299-£750 per person per night. Most cabins can take extra beds for children under 12 at a small cost, give us a call for more information.
Glass igloos in Levi
If you are staying in Levi and looking for an overnight Igloo experience, then the Levin Iglut Golden Crown Luxury Glass Igloos are the ones for you. The site is located just 10km from Levi, and the Igloos are set on a fell-top location with incredible panoramic views. All the Igloos have en suite facilities, a small kitchenette with a fridge and free Wi-Fi. Your overnight excursion includes a 3-course dinner at the onsite restaurant and a continental breakfast.
Glass igloos in Saariselka
If you are wanting to book an Igloo overnight stay from Saariselka then you will be looking at the world-famous Kakslauttanen Glass Igloos situated just 15km from Saarieslka town centre. There are several Igloo options on site here ranging from their small Glass Igloos up to their Kelo-Glass Igloos. Your overnight stay includes a 3-course dinner at the onsite restaurant, breakfast and an evening Sauna.

Northern Lights Village
Aurora Cabins are also available to book when staying in both Levi and Saariselka, the sites being situated slightly outside of town. These are very similar to the glass Igloos but rather than being fully made of glass they have a heated north-facing semi glass roof window above the beds, perfect for star gazing and watching the Northern Lights if you get lucky! The Aurora Cabins are a much better value overnight stay option ranging from £165-350 per adult per night.
The Northern Lights Ranch
The Northern Lights Ranch is an incredible recently built facility around 15km from the town of Levi. With just 16 Sky View Cabins onsite you can get a real intimate experience at the Northern Lights Ranch. The cabins available are: Standard, Superior, Superior with Sauna, Deluxe with Outdoor Hot Tub. All cabins have large glass windows and heated glass roofs making them ideal for viewing the nights sky and hopefully the Northern Lights. They have an onsite restaurant, and you can choose at the time of booking if you want to upgrade to half board, bookings also include a complimentary shuttle bus from Levi town. Staying in an Igloo in Lapland FAQ:
Memorable overnight Igloo stays can be booked when staying in the Finnish Lapland resorts of Levi (10km from the resort), and when staying in Saariselka (15km from the resort). The Igloo sites are in the middle of the peaceful wilderness so that they are far away from the towns human-made light pollution, increasing your chances of seeing the Northern Lights.
The Igloos that you can stay in are cosy luxury glass igloos with en suite facilities. The Igloos are set away from the towns and the light pollution to increase your chances of seeing the Northern Lights. This does mean that they are in the middle of nowhere and are recommended as a one-night add on to your seven-night Lapland holiday.
When you add an overnight excursion to a holiday that you have booked through us here at SNO, we will include either a shared coach transfer or a taxi from the excursion meeting point in resort. If you are booking independently, you will need to arrange your own taxi from whichever resort you visit.
