While you won’t necessarily be soaking up the rays from Maderno’s lovely sandy beach or diving into the cool lake for a swim, October is still a fantastic time to stay in Maderno.
If you’re looking for a summer holiday in a traditionally warm climate, its best to visit Maderno in the temperate months of May and September, or the warmest months of June, July and August but, if warm weather is not on your perfect-holiday tick-list, read on.
The weather here is likely to be much more pleasant than the climate you’ll leave at home, with average highs of 18°C and although it does rain on a few days of the month, there’s still a lot to enjoy. Indoor attractions including Toscolano’s church of Santi Pietro e Paolo where you can see some of Celesti’s paintings and the lakefront church of Sant Andrea which is said to be one of the most beautiful in the area. If you’ve had your fill of religious buildings, Maderno has some charming little shops and cafes in the town centre.
October’s cooler climate is fantastic if you want to discover Lake Garda on an active holiday without having to contend with the heat and humidity of the summer months. The amazing Parco Alto Garda Bresciano is a national park that lies behind Maderno, offering a variety of walking and cycle paths where you can discover flora and fauna as well as spectacular views and the Paper Mill Valley also offers a lot to see and do.
October is a fantastic time to stay in Maderno where you can enjoy a cooler climate, quieter village and some fantastic holiday deals. Maderno’s quiet atmosphere here is perfect if you want somewhere where you can really get away and enjoy the surroundings at your own pace. If you’d rather be somewhere with more of a town atmosphere during the quieter months, try Desenzano or Riva.
