Situated on the west coast of the lake, Maderno is lovely and warm in June and is a great place to stay if you want a quiet and relaxed resort with a fantastic beach and lots of things to do. Whether you want an active holiday of hiking and mountain biking or want to experience the area at a slower pace on leisurely strolls, on horseback or with a relaxed round of golf, Maderno is a brilliant base for your Lake Garda holiday.
The Alto Garda Bresciano national park lies behind Maderno and offers some brilliant hiking, mountain biking and horse-riding trails, while for golfers, the beautiful 18 hole Bogliaco Golf Course has stunning lake views. A huge asset here in the summer is the lovely beach – it’s one of the best sandy beaches in Lake Garda and has gorgeous clear water as well as a south facing position which means you can enjoy the best of the June sunshine.
On sunny days, head to the beach or hire a boat to explore the area from the water. The weather can be quite hot, so to stay cool in the heat of the day, there are some lovely churches in the area that are well worth a visit; the church of Sant Andrea is known as one of the most beautiful around and you can see paintings by Celesti over in the church of Santi Pietro e Paolo in Toscolano.
We love Maderno’s peaceful, laid back atmosphere in June however if you’d rather stay a larger, busier resort, see our accommodation in Malcesine, Desenzano or Riva.
