Temperatures here in October have cooled down from the hot summer months, which makes October a good time to visit if you want an active Lake Garda holiday. Walking and cycling opportunity here is abundant, with some fantastic routes around Arco and Nago including a visit to the Penede castle ruins. Torbole is well known for its relaxed cafe culture and whether you’re seeking tasty refreshments, peace and quiet or shelter from a rainy spell you’ve got to spend at least some of your time in one of Torbole’s cafes. Other good things to do if it rains here are visiting the San Andrea Church and browsing Torbole’s fantastic range of shops.
Torbole has a brilliantly laid back atmosphere throughout the year, but things liven up a bit during the annual international Marathon which takes place every October on the north end of Lake Garda. Of the two main events, the 15 km run starts in Torbole and the 30km run goes through it.
The excitement of the International Marathon makes a great addition to the Torbole experience as this is a place where sport is a big part of life. October is a great month if you’re looking for a cheap Lake Garda holiday too – look through what’s on offer by entering your departure dates and location below.
