Our favourite resorts in Lake Garda’s hottest months are those on the northern end of the lake because their position welcomes a lovely breeze to take the edge off the heat. Torbole is one of these and offers a perfect combination of summer action and laid back relaxation in a warm and breezy environment.
As well as providing a refreshing feel to the air, Torbole’s breeze makes it amazing for watersports including windsurfing and kitesurfing and is a welcome cooler to activities off the lake too. Torbole welcomes all stages of surfer from beginner to pro’ and you’ll find challenging cycling and walking routes around Mount Brione as well as more leisurely routes around the town and some spectacular lake views from the footpaths around Nago.
Lazy summer days here are all about soaking up the laid back cafe culture and watching the windsurfers from one of the sunny beaches. If you stay in Torbole in early July, you’ll enjoy live music to add to the laid back, summery feel from the Garda Jazz festival. For more music, walk down Torbole’s promenade to Riva, which hosts the MusicaRivaFestival in July.
We love Torbole at this time of year for its brilliant balance of sunshine and breeze and action and relaxing. If you want to stay somewhere with more history and culture, try Gardone Riviera or Limone or for soaking up the sunshine, stay in Sirmione or Peschiera.
