Sirmione’s southern position on Lake Garda means it gets the best of the June sunshine and feels warmer than other Lake Garda resorts. To make the most of the sun, Lido delle Bionde is one of the best beaches around, offering a great day in the sun whether you want to soak up the rays from a deck chair or enjoy the warm water on pedalo, kayak or just swimming. As Lido delle Bionde is one of the most popular beaches on the lake, June is a good time to go here before the resort gets busier in the high season. Boat trips around the peninsula are another big attraction in warm weather and Chervò Golf San Vigilio offers a 9 and 27 hole courses for those who fancy a round of golf in the Italian sun.

Because Sirmione lacks the cooling breeze of more northern resorts, you might want to find more sheltered ways to pass the time during the hottest part of the day. Sirmione has some lovely shady countryside where you can wander around olive trees and vineyards or for some local history visit the 13th century Rocca Scaligera castle and the ruined roman villa Grotte di Catullo.

Sirmione is perfect for a warm summer holiday in June before it gets much hotter and busier in the high season but if you’d rather stay somewhere cooler or somewhere with more water sports and activities focussed, have a look at Riva and Torbole.
