Peschiera is gloriously warm in July, which is usually the hottest month. It’s also one of the lake’s most popular places to stay at this time of year... and it doesn’t take long to realise why. Peschiera has some of the warmest weather of all the Lake Garda resorts thanks to its position on the south of the lake. Sheltered from wind and soaking up the best of the Italian sunshine, this is a brilliant place to book your summer holiday if you’re looking for somewhere with serious sunshine.
A huge asset of Peschiera in the summer is that, as well as the variety of things to do within the town itself, it has excellent access to some great days out.
For lazy days in Peschiera, the town has two pebble beaches with friendly beachfront restaurants and bars. There are brilliant cycling routes here including the Mincio riverside cycle path as well as some lovely walks along the lakeside. You can also go horse-riding around the area and if you want a golf holiday in Lake Garda, you can play on the a brilliant 18 hole course.
In terms of days out from Peschiera, the town has its own train station offering easy access to Venice and Verona (the Arena opera festival takes place in July). Gardaland themepark is in Peschiera and it’s only ten minutes in the car to Canevaworld Aquapark which is great in hot weather. The Parco Natura Viva is a fantastic nearby zoo where you can spend a whole day exploring the park, meeting animals and even doing a drive-through safari. If this isn’t enough, you’ll find gorgeous botanical gardens, a maze and a petting zoo at Parco Sigurta which can be discovered on foot or bicycle.
We love the buzz of groups and families in the summer months who stay in Peschiera for its hot weather and excellent access to some unforgettable days out. If you’re staying here in July, consider booking somewhere with a swimming pool - great if you want to take some time out in the sunshine. Peschiera is a brilliant place for families and can become busy during school holidays so, if you’re looking to experience it in a quieter month, have a look through our holidays in May and June or September. For somewhere that’s cooler in July and is rich in culture and history, visit in Gardone Riviera or Limone.
