Peschiera is the most southern resort on Lake Garda, situated in the province of Verona where the lake drains into the Mincio River. This is a good family oriented resort, with short airport transfers, plenty of activities, terrific transport links and Italy’s best theme parks nearby.
One of the best features here is the lovely tree-lined promenade – perfect for walks along the lakeside. The traffic-free centre is the most vibrant part of the fortified town, its medieval streets filled with historic buildings, shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. At the end of the day, enjoy a feast and show at the Medieval Times restaurant and cheer on your Knight as he fights to win the Fair Princess in a game of horseback skills and jousting. The strategic location of the town has meant that it’s had a long and battle-worn history, evidence of which is seen all around the centre and in the considerable fortifications including high walls, moats and bridge. Built on 1st century Roman ruins and with various Bronze Age artefacts found nearby, Peschiera offers a deep history to keep guests busy with walks and exploration of the beautiful surrounding area.
