Limone is warm and breezy in June, which is perfect if you want to enjoy the sunshine without feeling too hot. It’s this summer breeze that makes Limone a great place to stay in Lake Garda if you enjoy water sports including sailing, windsurfing and kayaking (lessons and equipment hire are available in the resort). The amazing Alto Garda Bresciano national park sits behind Limone and offers some great hiking and mountain biking routes for the adventurous.
Limone isn’t just great for adventurous holidays in June - it has lots of beautiful scenery and interesting attractions to discover at a more leisurely pace. The lemon groves and olive trees are gorgeous in June and you’ll find some lovely walks around them (the Castèl lemon house’s garden is beautiful at this time of year). To pass the time during the heat of the day or during rare rainy spells, visit the San Rocco and San Pietro Churches, Fishing museum and Museum of Curiosities. For a casual afternoon stroll, amble down the path along the San Giovanni stream, walk along the beach and finish off on the promenade for some well-earned al fresco dining.
We love Limone’s breezy climate in June, but if you want to stay somewhere with a more Mediterranean feel, visit Peschiera or Sirmione which are further south and more sheltered from the breeze. Limone is great for water sports, but for somewhere that’s really sport focussed, check out Riva or Torbole.
