You’ll enjoy warm autumn sunshine in Lazise in October which usually sees highs around 18°C and has a sheltered position on the southern end of the lake which means you’ll feel the best of the sunshine.

If you’re looking for a summer holiday in a traditionally warm climate, its best to visit Lazise in the temperate months of May and September, or the warmest months of June, July and August but, if warm weather is not on your perfect-holiday tick-list, read on.

Take advantage of October’s cooler temperatures in Lazise by discovering the area’s variety of walking and cycling terrain (it can sometimes be too hot to enjoy these in the summer months). As well as the lakeside paths and winding medieval streets of the town itself, Lazise sits at the foot of the moraine hills where you’ll find some brilliant walking, hiking and mountain biking routes. Although it does rain in October, this in no way impedes your holiday, with lots of indoor things to do and see. Lazise has some amazing historical buildings including the Scaliger Castle and the Dogana Veneta and the olive oil museum and Romanesque church of St. Nicholas are well worth a visit too. You’ll also find a brilliant range of shops and cafes in the town centre where you can easily pass the time. A fantastic way to warm up on cooler days is in the hot-spring water of the Thermal Park Garda where you can enjoy hydromassages and refreshments.

While you may not be greeted with glorious sunshine at this time of year, there are all kinds of events in October which add a great atmosphere to the lake. Lazise really comes to life in October with a honey festival and olive oil fair, not to mention the festivities over in nearby Bardolino (about 10 minutes in the car), where the famous wine festival celebrates the grape harvest with live music, fireworks and lots of food and wine.
