If you want to experience one of Lake Garda’s most picturesque villages at a mild and quiet time of year, book a holiday in Gardone Riviera in October.
If you’re looking for a summer holiday in a traditionally warm climate, its best to visit Gardone in the temperate months of May and September, or the warmest months of June, July and August but, if warm weather is not on your perfect-holiday tick-list, read on.
October in Gardone Riviera sees mild temperatures of up to 18°C with rainfall on about 8 days of the month. The St Nicolo church and Gabriele d'Annunzio’s Vittoriale (one of Lake Garda’s main attractions) are two great places to visit if you’re waiting for the skies to clear and once they have, Gardone Riviera’s mild October temperatures are fantastic if you’re looking for an active holiday but don’t want to contend with the summer heat; the national park offers a variety of walking, hiking and cycling routes with spectacular views.
Some of the biggest events on the Lake Garda calendar take place at this time of year and Gardone Rivera is the perfect place to stay if you want a quieter town that’s less affected by the events but offers great access to them if you do want to get involved. Over on the other side of the lake, Bardolino hosts its annual wine festival in October to celebrate the grape harvest and the International Lake Garda Marathon goes through the northern towns on the lake around this time of year too.
Gardone Riviera is a fantastic place to escape and relax in October, but if you’d prefer somewhere with more action, stay in Bardolino or Limone which have some great events in October. Our October holiday deals are amazing – see what’s available below and get in touch to book your holiday!
