Self-catering in Lake Como
Self-catering certainly has its perks in a place like Lake Como – without a set meal plan, you’re free to explore local restaurants (Tremezzo is foodie heaven), get stuck into the food festivals (ever been to an Asparagus Festival?! Come in May!) or whip up your own home favourites. Bellagio, Mennagio, Lenno and Tremezzo all have food markets where you can find local produce to cook with and there are Carrefour and Sigma supermarkets dotted around the lake for essentials. If you’re hiring a car or driving from home, you might want to pop into one of the hypermarkets towards Milan which will have bigger choice and smaller prices.
