Holidays in Ischgl

Summer in Ischgl is a way more relaxed affair than the raucous scenes of winter - think lazy days by the river and chilled evenings listening to live bands on pub terraces. When it comes to picking up the tempo, the mountain biking is legendary and the hiking, paragliding and white water rafting are pretty good too...

Ischgl Walking

With sights of mountains, glaciers, reservoirs and waterfalls, Ischgl’s hiking trails show you the very best of the great outdoors. The area’s part of a whopping 1000km network that spans the Paznaun and includes an adventure path around Lake Vidersee as well as a tricky hairpin trail up to the Ritzenjoch peak. If you’ve a head for heights, the suspension bridges on the Walk of Lyrics (which covers two ravines) shouldn’t be missed! For families, the route between the Schwarzwassersee & Pardatschersee lakes is buggy friendly and both lakes have areas set aside for BBQ’s if you can squeeze some sausages into the rucksack. Nordic walkers can hire poles in most local sports shops - you don’t have to walk the whole Paznauner Trail but if you fancy the first few stages it begins with some lovely meadow and forest paths.

Ischgl Cycling

If you’re bringing your bike to Ischgl, there’s one stretch you absolutely can’t miss – the Silvretta High Alpine Road. This stunning 25km route snakes up between multiple 3000+ metre peaks, before rewarding you with a heart pounding descent that takes in no fewer than 30 hairpins! Best of all, there’s a café at the top…

You won’t find any huge manmade parks here but there’s mile upon mile of stunning singletrack to make up for it – and rarely a lift queue in sight. One reason we love this place is the variety - spend the morning riding over high, rocky mountain passes before descending through meadows into a lush forest by lunchtime. For a challenge, head towards Samnaun via the summit of Greitspitz.

Taking the load off Ischgl’s uphill climbs, you’ll find E-Bikes to hire (and charging stations to keep them going) all over the Paznaun region – which just so happens to be one of the highest E-Biking regions on the planet.
