Weather in Seychelles during school holidays

February Half Term

If you want to escape the winter blues and whisk your kids away for a well-deserved break during the February half-term, then the Seychelles is the place to visit. The weather in February gradually gets hotter in the lead-up to summer, with average temperatures of 28°C in the daytime and 25°C in the evening. Although rainfall decreases throughout February, you may experience a few intermittent and short showers. These are sure not to ruin your plans, as they are quickly followed by glorious sunshine.

Easter

The Easter half term usually occurs in March or April and marks the end of the low season in Seychelles. May Half Term

Summer

The summer merges with the peak season in Seychelles, and it’s a fantastic time to visit. Between June and August, the climate is hot and dry, with average highs of 29°C and average lows of 24°C, making July the driest month of the year. Pack a high SPF sun cream in your suitcase as the UV rays stay high, beaming 12 hours of sunshine daily.

October Half Term

If you wish to get away during the October half-term, it’s notable that October is another off-season month transitioning into the wet season, with roughly eight days of rain. You aren’t guaranteed a completely dry holiday, but rainfall usually comes in quick bursts, and after approximately 30 minutes, you’re bound to back lazing in the sunshine. The weather is still dry and warm, ranging from 23 to 28°C in the day.

Christmas & New Year

In December and January, the Seychelles have an average temperature of 27°C, with highs of 30°C and lows of 24°C. During this time, you can expect 12 hours of sunshine a day, with an average of 8 inches of rainfall, usually spread within 17 days in the month. Nevertheless, those grey skies turn blue quite quickly with short-lived showers.

January is the best time of year to test your skills and ride some waves in the Indian Ocean while you escape the cold British winters back home.
