Cooler than ski holidays?

What can you do in ski resorts that’s more exciting than ski holidays?

“Wingsuit Base Jumping” may be the coolest thing in the history of very cool things.

We’d all like to ski like James Bond and, with Brits booking more ski holidays than ever before, many of you probably can.  But the days of Connery are long gone and now the most adrenalised feats pulled off by the contemporary 007 are considerable more extreme than skiing fast while pursued by motorbikes with machine guns.

You might remember the vintage Bond moment where he skis off the cliff to certain death, only to see a parachute open as the hero floats gracefully away.  This may be the first cinematic portrayal of the now widely known sport of “base jumping” (albeit on skis), but the modern super spy has since given up on the parachute, in preferance of the newer/faster/cooler “wingsuit” which facilitates (in the words of Buzz Lightyear) “falling with style”.

The guys in this jaw dropping film have gone one better, and teamed the high speed thrills of a wingsuit (normally flown by jumping out of an aeroplane) with the near-cliff peril of base-jumping.

Cooler than ski holidays?  possibly – More lethal?  definitely

A whole new meaning of “terminal velocity” – expect to see this in the next Bond movie!
