SNO news is GOOD news >> snowy half term to come!
Snow, sun and oodles more snow to come… The snowfall of the past couple of days has paused to let SNO lovers enjoy the pistes in glorious sunshine today.
There’s more snow on the menu over the weekend, with Mother Nature kindly topping up the slopes for anyone heading to the alps for half term.

Avoriaz, France
Temperature: -13°C to -10°C
Snow @ top of ski area: 190cm
Snow in resort: 100cm
Current weather: There was a healthy 30cm of fresh snow yesterday. Today is sunny and cloudy, with more snow due to fall tomorrow.
La Plagne, France
Temperature: -17°C to -11°C
Snow @ top of ski area: 230cm
Snow in resort: 30cm
Current weather: LP saw 10cm of fresh snow this morning and the rest of the day’s been a mix of cloud and sun. More snow is set to fall over the weekend.
Grindelwald, Switzerland
Temperature: -9°C to -1°C
Snow @ top of ski area: 154cm
Snow in resort: 15cm
Current weather: There’s 6cm of new snow and it’s sunny in the gorgeous Jungfrau region today! The forecast is cloudy with sprinklings of snow over the next few days. Heavier snow’s expected around Tuesday.
Meribel, France
Temperature: -15°C to -3°C
Snow @ top of ski area: 180cm
Snow in resort: 80cm
Current weather: Cloudy with some snow this morning, tomorrow should be sunny first thing, followed by snow in the afternoon, and more snow on Saturday.
St Anton, Austria
Temperature: -8°C to -1°C
Snow @ top of ski area: 135cm
Snow in resort: 95cm
Current weather: Today has been sunny with a bit of cloud, and the same kind of conditions are predicted up until Monday, when there should be more cloud and snowflakes. Freezing point’s currently at 900m.
Courchevel, France
Temperature: -16°C to -8°C
Snow @ top of ski area: 180cm
Snow in resort: 129cm
Current weather: 5cm fresh snow in resort, 7cm at summit. Freezing point is currently at 500m. It should be overcast tomorrow, with snow falling later on followed by a snowier Saturday and Sunday.
Flaine, France
Temperature: -11°C to -6°C
Snow @ top of ski area: 260cm
Snow in resort: 100cm
Current weather: Partly cloudy, with sunshine above 1600m. 15cm of fresh snow in resort, and 20cm up top. Heavy snow is forecast until Monday, then a couple of days of light snow before the sun reappears.
Alpe d’Huez, France
Temperature: -10°C to -7°C
Snow @ top of ski area:
Snow in resort: 250cm
Current weather: Alpe d’Huez has 7cm of fresh snow in resort and 10cm up top. At the moment it’s fabulously sunny. Light snow is predicted this evening, with heavier snow Friday night & Saturday.
Verbier, Switzerland
Temperature: -9°C to -3°C
Snow @ top of ski area: 200cm
Snow in resort: 27cm
Current weather: Cloudy with a bit of sun and 5cm of fresh snow up at Les Ruinettes. Snow due tomorrow – and similar conditions over the weekend.
Les Arcs, France
Temperature: -17°C to -13°C
Snow @ top of ski area: 230cm
Snow in resort: 125cm
Current weather: 3cm fresh snowfall today, where the freezing level is hovering around 600m. Lots of sun this morning – with a few more clouds this afternoon. Snow is expected tomorrow and over the weekend.
Tignes, France
Temperature: -5°C to -18°C
Snow @ top of ski area: 235cm
Snow in resort: 134cm
Current weather: Sun and snow this morning, more snow should be falling this evening. Tomorrow’s due to have a sunny morning with snow clouds coming in from the afternoon onwards – and more throughout the weekend.
Val Thorens, France
Temperature: -16°C to -11°C
Snow @ top of ski area: 250cm
Snow in resort: 150cm
Current weather: Sun and cloud, with more of the same tomorrow plus some snow. The freezing level is currently at 400m.
