Lovely hotel, perfect location

Reviewed 23 May 2016

It was absolutely lovely! We found the location amazing, absolutely perfect! The food was lovely. It really ticked all the boxes and I couldn’t fault it. The only thing I’d say is that the owner/manager was really rude, she was just a bit off and shirty whenever we asked her something. The other staff were absolutely fantastic though.

Amazing!!

Our holiday was great, we had an amazing time. The hotel was fantastic and in an amazing location. I would happily go again. The ski lift was right outside, which was amazing; I could see it from my window. The food was really good with loads of choice. The reception area was brilliant, clean and there was a log fire which was great. There was also a lift in the hotel. It is close to bars, restaurants etc. which was great and it wasn’t noisy at all either. The location is right in the middle of the resort. The only small negative thing I would say is that you get charged for the ski lockers.

Wonderful place, good enough for Beefy!

We stayed somewhere else in Arinsal the year before and kept seeing the Montane Hotel which is why we stayed here - it stood out to us because Ian Botham was staying there! We had a wonderful stay and I have nothing but praise for it.
It’s fantastic, right in the heart of Arinsal which is not a big resort, so all the après ski bars are a couple of minute’s walk from the hotel. It’s directly opposite the gondola for easy access onto the main Arinsal slopes (you can literally look out the bedroom window and see the gondola). The bus stop is also right outside if you want to go to the other ski areas. The Montane’s got its own locker where you can store your snowboards and skis and it’s not chargeable, it’s all free for residents.
We went on a half board option, the buffet breakfast was ok and the food in the evenings was fabulous - the restaurant was very popular with people who weren’t residents, which is a good sign of how great it was.
I know there are bigger hotels with better facilities in terms of swimming pools, saunas etc., but for what we wanted it was ideal and if you want to go away for the skiing, it’s fabulous.
