The hotel was brilliant!

We had a great time. The staff were helpful and we had a really good time. As you’d expect in a hotel like this, the food was very good. We really like Val Thorens. The hotel position was great (ski in / ski out), it was super for us.

We were initially concerned about a few poor reviews we'd seen, but we really couldn’t fault the hotel.
The staff even helped to put our skis on in the morning for us!
Quite a small hotel, which we loved, and the staff were very good.
There was always a shuttle car outside ready for you, which would take you anywhere that you wanted to go.
Reception staff were great, they sorted any issues straight away - we hadn't had our room cleaned on one of the days and the staff immediately sorted it out, nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was good, but the main hotel restaurant got a bit samey towards the end of the week for me - they changed one or two options daily for the "dish of the day" but if you didn't want these options, then the rest of the choices were the same for the week. The ski access was very easy, the access was really good. Coming down on the blue run (plein sud) we skied right into the hotel, it was really easy. During our stay we booked into the Cave restaurant - the food was really good and at times we felt there was a bit too much food (not a bad problem to have)!
