Chalet Alaska is a stylish chalet located right on the high street in the centre of Morzine. It has a fabulous vaulted living area with flat screen TV and log burning stove. From the south facing balconies you look down on the high street and up at the Pleney nursery slopes. The chalet also boasts a wet suite with hot tub and sauna, so you can relax weary limbs after a day on the slopes.

Morzine provides the perfect base from which to explore the Portes du Soleil ski area, offering 650km of pistes in 14 resorts and 2 countries. Morzine is a traditional resort with skiing to suit all abilities from first timers to powder hungry experts. Chalet Alaska will be the perfect home for a week's skiing in Morzine and beyond.

Accommodation in Chalet Alaska is spread across four floors, the chalet sleeps 12-16 guests in 7 en suite bedrooms. There are 4 twins and 3 doubles, one with additional bunk beds which if occupied are charged at half the adult price. The two smaller double rooms are perfect for single occupancy with just a £100 room supplement, the second guest in these bedrooms also pay half price. Your dedicated chalet hosts will serve breakfast, afternoon tea and a 3-course evening meal on 6 evenings.

Once you are settled and have sampled the afternoon tea that awaits you on arrival a member of the Mathias Sports team will visit and fit all your equipment without you having to leave the comfort of your chalet. If you find that the equipment isn't quite the right fit a member of staff will pick you up and drive you to the shop. "Lovely stay and great skiing!"

Excellent food from chef Tom, with choice of courses an added bonus. Room slightly smaller than expected... however this was more luck of the draw as rooms can be selected. Only disappointment was the wines-although there were 2 reds & 2 whites each evening with dinner (same 4 all week) the whites were particularly disappointing given the fabulous quality and selection of wines available in France - it would be a great advance to pair wines with the fabulous food. All staff very friendly and helpful, the personal service very much appreciated.

Second time in 3 years back to club Alaska lodge in Morzine. The team running the place were great (Tom, Pia and Hannah) - great food, very attentive and place spotless as first time. Lodge is for 14 - which we like. 8 in our party and lively chat every night at dinner. The rooms are small - which does not bother us as the dinning room, lovely lounge and rest of the place more than makes up for that. Dead easy stroll to lifts - literally choice of restaurants/bars/coffee shops etc within 50 yards. To top it all - the best weeks weather on good snow we have had in best part of 20 years skiing. Highly recommended! Thanks again. See you soon. Warren Angela Dave Sue Tom Liam Natalie Adam.

All round excellent with no major concerns at all. Very minor but still in terms of cost and expectations were: having to have a PHD in electronics to work out the theatre sound system , no beer in fridge for tea time on day 1 , some guests wanting sauce with a meal and then waiting for a couple of meals to get it, running out of crackers and bread on last night , no free soft drinks outside of meal times for a junior yet we paid full price for her. As I say minor but if you want to be the best (and I think this company do) then in a Chalet billed as very special these things should not happen. The chalet staff were first class though.

"Wonderful holiday"

I just wanted to say what a wonderful holiday I have just had at the Alaska chalet in Morzine. The team that looked after us all were simply superb. Tom the Chef cooked the most amazing food all week and also lent me his ski gear (due to my case getting lost!) Both Pia and Hannah were brilliant at looking after our group of 18 making sure that that they catered to all our needs. We had a number of issues in the week such as the Hot Tub not working and a Power cut for 12 hours, yet the three of them were so professional it was a pleasure to have them look after us, and how Tom managed to feed us all that night was nothing short of miraculous. The brilliant team at Alaska were then backed up by Trina and Tom who again made sure our week went as well as it could. In summary a wonderful holiday made perfect by a great team.
