Overview: chalet description: Chalet Lisette description

Chalet Lisette (sleeps 23-24). Chalet Lisette is a fantastic and exciting addition to our programme for the 2014/15 season.
This super freestanding property provides perfect comfortable accommodation for up to 24 guests, therefore its ideal for large groups of friends, families getting together or for smaller groups wanting to meet like-minded people on their well-earned annual ski holiday. The chalet is going through some updates over the summer of 2014 in prepraration for the season. The living room is situated on the second floor with a wonderful open fireplace and the dining room leads to a lovely open sunny terrace on which to enjoy a chilled glass of wine at the end of a hard day on the slopes before sinking into the hot-tub to soak those aching limbs! All the bedrooms offer comfortable, although relatively basic accommodation and each has ensuite facilities.
Situated a short walk up from the main square, Chalet Lisette provides easy access to both the village centre where one can enjoy the many bars, shops and restaurants that Meribel has to offer, as well as straight-forward access via a downhill walk or short local free bus ride to the Doron piste which runs down to the main square.
You will be looked after by a team of four of our carefully selected chalet hosts who live in separate accommodation below the chalet.

We offer our properties on a flexible catering basis therefore providing our guests with as much choice as possible when choosing a fully-catered, part-catered or self-catered chalet or apartment. Your preferences will be discussed at the time of booking and a tailor-made itinerary will be costed based on your requirements.

Our chalet hosts all enjoy cooking and take pride in what they serve and whilst they are not necessarily qualified chefs, they have good experience of dinner party cooking and many of them will have attended one of the well-regarded cookery schools with whom we work closely to ensure the highest calibre of staff possible.

If choosing the fully catered or part catered option, you will be assured of good home-cooked food prepared and served by our specially selected chalet hosts. We do not offer luxury items or haute cuisine, we serve good wholesome hearty food fit for anyone after a hard day on the slopes. Menus will be varied and may include local dishes as well as the more traditional UK favourites such as roasts, lasagne or casseroles.

Our menus have been formed over many years taking into account previous guests’ likes and recommendations and whilst we believe this plan to offer excellent variety, there will be the odd occasion when a dish might not be well-received. We would ask you therefore that if you have any specific dietary requirements or a yearning for dishes in particular, you enquire before booking your holiday and provide us with as much notice as possible regarding specific diets such as vegetarian, vegan, celiac or non-dairy etc.

We update Chalet Lisette's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

3 Valleys ski area Excellent ski schools Lively après ski

Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.

Meribel's location is tricky to beat, slap bang in the centre of the mammoth Three Valleys ski area. British made, and largely Brit run, it's a destination we flock to year after year for a homely atmosphere in a good looking resort with more than enough pistes for a week (or three). It's made up of a huddle of gorgeous hamlets, built in traditional wood and stone and surrounded by thick woodland. The main area is Meribel Centre (usually known just as Meribel). A traditional alpine village with choc-box chale...
Meribel is one of the best ski resorts to learn in. There are three beginner areas known as 'Ski Facile' (easy ski) plus great green pistes to practise on including Le Foret and Altiport. Both runs are carefully planned out so you can practice at your own pace in quiet surroundings. If you're skiing with children, there are fantastic ski schools and child-orientated areas, including animal sculptures scattered around the trees at the 'Pistes des Animaux' where children can learn about local wildlife as they e...
Whether your day on the hill leaves you wanting to relax with a vin chaud, have a pint and play pool, or party the night away, your time off the slopes can be as varied as the day spent cruising the incredible Trois Vallees. It's said that you haven't experienced après ski here (or anywhere for that matter) until you've sampled toffee vodka in Le Rond Point, which is easily one of the most famous après ski bars in the world - complete with a slide down to the toilets! Meribel's rightly famous for its nightl...

"A good week but not our kind of accommodation"

G.M., West Midlands

We had a good week away but weren’t overly impressed with the chalet. We’d never done a catered chalet holiday before (usually stay in hotels). After this holiday, I think the catered chalet thing would work for us but only if the chalet itself was a bit better spec. The 1st thing was the room which wasn’t what we were expecting. The overall finish was very basic for us, maybe this was reflected in the price. The actual lounge and dining areas were nice. The food on the first night was excellent, and that was actually the best we had all week. They had a few issues and had to change the staff on the kitchen side of things – there was always plenty of wine but sometimes when you’ve been skiing you just want to eat when you get in. It was served quite late, which some people like but we had lessons in the morning and one night we did contemplate going out to eat (some other guests actually did). When you look around the location is actually pretty good, it wasn’t ski to chalet (we knew this before we arrived) but it was only a short walk into Meribel and we ended up leaving our equipment in a locker so we didn’t have to walk with it.

Her cuisine was of a high standard and she made sure our group was looked after. The chalet was in good order and everything we needed was provided for, it represents excellent value for money and we would be interested in repeating for a third stay in 2015.

The group had a good time and enjoyed the interaction with the chalet hosts who were very friendly and always had a very good attitude. The chalet shuttle to the ski lifts was very good and was always on time. Organizing ski lift passes was easy and in one case a group member lost their pass. A new pass was issued almost instantly. We would like to provide a special mention to Pete who's service was always above par and was extremely helpful and nice to deal with.
