Great hotel, we have returned here since the first time we stayed. Rooms and interior are basic but the service and location are fantastic. Food was first class and the staff had good leadership in the hotel. Ski lifts are right outside the front door so getting to the piste couldn’t be easier. + more

Part of the Arlberg ski area, St Christoph sits on the Arlberg pass – down the road from Zurs and on the other side of the Galzig mountain from the epic St. Anton and its world-renowned après-ski. With a convenient position between the two, this is a brilliant place if you want to explore the Arlberg area at both ends. It made its name when, in the 14th century, Heinrich Findelkind raised money for a hospice to shelter travellers from harsh conditions. With Innsbruck airport only 100km away, you won’t ne...
Getting lessons is the best way to learn and develop your confidence here. Several independent instructors offer fantastic tuition and Ski Schule Arlberg have offices in St. Christoph - their children’s area has a playground, magic carpets and a drag lift where little ones can get to know their skis. The nursery pistes in nearby Rendl are gentle and tend to be quite quiet. There are nice short blues in the village labelled 8A and served by the Maiensee lift. Once you’ve mastered these, Blue 8 leads all the w...
Considering its size it’s not surprising that St. Christoph isn’t a party capital - with a few high end bars, the village has a very intimate vibe. However, St. Anton’s legendary après ski is nearby if you want to turn things up a little. Most of any après-ski in St. Christoph revolves around the Arlberg Hospiz Hotel. It has a number of restaurants including the Sun Terrace, Tyrolean Restaurant and the Hospiz Alm Chalet. This really is fine dining – the Hospiz Alm has been awarded two toques – a presti...

"Great chalet hotel, perfectly located"

Louise, London
5/ out of 5
Chalet Hotel St Christoph was great, we enjoyed the food and overall it was pretty much everything we expected! When we ski with friends we usually book a smaller chalet, but after the pair of us stayed in a chalet hotel last year, we thought we’d try another - it was actually pretty good for a small group. It’s fairly well equipped, with a couple of different bars and a pool, so despite there not being much in St Christoph, there’s still stuff you can do in the chalet hotel. The location is perfect, it’s ‘ski out’ in the true sense of the word. I haven’t stayed in St Anton before but get the impression that skiing out is pretty unachievable unless you’re a millionaire, whereas in St Christoph access to the skiing was really easy.

"Fabulous, very impressed"

Chalet Hotel St Christoph was fabulous. I’ve stayed in another Chalet Hotel before and this exceeded my previous experience. I was very impressed with the manager but all the staff were brilliant – they couldn’t do enough for you and you could really see that they wanted to be hospitable. Everyone who worked there was very happy and seemed to be enjoying their jobs. Even my room was very good, usually you find little niggles with the bedroom but I can’t think of anything to complain about. The food was superb. The manager was actually a trained chef and on the night you usually eat out, they gave us the choice between going to a restaurant and staying in – he put on a simple but good meal. The swimming pool was an absolute bonus – it was kept well and run well. The location was adequate enough, it’s a little bit out on a limb but you could go out the back of the hotel, take a button lift and ski down to the chair lift. We had too much snow (every day, every night) so didn’t get to explore the ski area as much as we’d have liked but we did go over to St Anton. The only disadvantage with Austria compared to France is that you have to catch buses to get around the ski areas.

"Brillian really - fantastic staff"

The chalet hotel is brilliant really, fantastic staff. It has a pretty good location, with the ski lifts right outside the boot room. I stayed in a double and we had a joining balcony with friends next door which was nice. Not the best of views from the balcony but I was aware of this when I booked so it wasn’t an issue. The only criticism I can think of is that it was too hot – I don’t know if it was because we were there quite late in the season, but it got uncomfortably hot at times. The rooms were adequate, what you’d expect from a chalet hotel really – clean, warm water etc. St Christoph is really quiet with just this chalet hotel and a couple of expensive hotels.
