Location: where is Chalet Boule de Neige

It's in a prime position in La Plagne 1800 being less than 30 metres away from the piste together with being central in the village, thus there are no long walks to the piste! The chalet is also directly opposite the fast chairlift that has been opened which whisks you towards Plagne Centre and Plagne Soleil.

The chalet is directly next door to our ski hire shop and so this is a great convenience especially for those with small children as you don't need to carry your skis anywhere!

Meals: Chalet Boule de Neige food & drink

During your stay in one of our catered chalets we will serve you hearty breakfasts on five days of your stay and self-service on two days; tasty home-made cake for afternoon tea and a delicious evening meal each evening for five nights of your stay, all complimented with unlimited wine.

Breakfast

As skiers ourselves, we know how important breakfast is to set you up for a good day on the mountain so on the 5 days where a cooked breakfast is provided you can take your pick from porridge and eggs cooked to order, French bread, preserves, croissants, yoghurt, muesli, cereals and a differing cooked option which includes sausages and bacon, fluffy pancakes, scrambled eggs with lardons, all served alongside fruit juice and freshly brewed coffee or our specially imported Yorkshire tea. On our self-service days there is a good selection to choose from including cereals, bread, ham and cheese etc.

Afternoon Tea

It’s a favourite chalet tradition, coming back to your chalet at the end of a hard day on the piste to a freshly baked cake along with tea and coffee.

Dinner

Our menu is freshly prepared to create delicious wholesome dishes that may range from local mountain favourites such as a traditional rich boeuf bourguignon to Loin of pork with caramelised apple and cider all served with delicious accompaniments and seasonal vegetables. We finish with scrumptious desserts such as a classic warming apple crumble or a melt in your mouth chocolate fondant. All of our food is complimented with a choice of handpicked wines and finally we round off the evening with freshly brewed coffee and tea. On your final evening we serve a fourth course of cheese.

Wines

Your host will serve our house wine throughout the meal which we have specially chosen to accompany the dishes on our menu. We have personally selected a red, a white and a rose wine based on our pre-season wine tastings which we do every year plus feedback that we receive each year from our guests.

Children’s Meals

Children aged between 2 and 12 will be served an earlier 2 course menu of simple home cooked favourites at around 6.30 pm. For children under 2 baby food is not provided.

Special Diets

If you have any particular dietary requirements please talk to us beforehand so we can do our best to get things just how you like it. We are able to source some ingredients for you as long as we know beforehand. Vegetarian options are available on our normal chalet menus and there is no charge for this but we will need at least 2 weeks notice to obtain the products.
We can cater for other special diets such a vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, wheat-free, specific food allergies. Etc. There will be a charge of £25 per person per week. Any dietary requirements must be advised to us at the time of booking in order for us to be fully prepared. Due to our delivery service for food it does mean that we cannot cater for any special diets that have not been notified to us at least 2 weeks before arrival.

Staff Day off

In order to comply with all legal regulations in France and the EU all of our chalet staff have two full days off during your stay. On their days off breakfast is provided for you and it will be all laid out the night before so it will be help yourself. In the evening of the days off it’s a great chance to try out one of the local restaurants; your chalet host will know all the good ones and will be pleased to make a reservation for you.

We update Chalet Boule de Neige's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. In the French Alps' Savoie region, La Plagne was established in the early sixties and now consists of 11 villages: 7 purpose built villages and 4 traditional villages. The aptly named Plagne Centre at the heart of the resort is the main hub of shops, restaurants and après ski. Just underneath lies Plagne 1800, a cluster of chalets spread across a steep hillside. Higher up are Aime-la-Plagne, Plagne-Soleil and Plagne-Villages, all accessible via chairlifts from Plagne Centre. Plagne Bellecote rests over a l...
There are plenty of nursery slopes with access to free beginner lifts and a wide choice of different ski schools for those new to skiing. The slopes around the Belle Plagne area are particularly suitable for beginners. The blue run linking Les Bauches to Montchavin provides a manageable step up in difficulty from the nursery slopes. For those who class themselves as intermediate skiers, La Plagne is paradise. 77% of the runs are graded either blue or red. Particular favourites are the run from La Grand Roch...
It might not rival Val d'sere or Verbier for their wild party scenes, but this is an exceptional resort for unique après ski opportunities. Try snowmobiling at night, ice climbing in Champagny, husky sledding, paragliding, extreme tobogganing and more! One experience not to be missed is the bobsleigh track, used for Olympic training. There are various ways you can choose to go down it, but they are all guaranteed to give you a thrill as you will hurtle down at speeds ranging from 80 km/hr up to a lightening 120...
