There's no 'average' but most range from £800 to £3000+ per person, for a package that includes flights, transfers to resort and accommodation. High-season peak dates, five-star hotels and with chalets with catering cost more than low-season self-catered apartments. Extras like lift pass (£200-300), equipment hire (£100-200) and lessons will depend on your chosen ski resort, as larger destinations cost more.
To save money, choose a smaller resort, travel outside of school holidays, pick a self-catered apartment and make the most of early-booking offers. With so many factors to consider, planning can be daunting, so start on the right track by figuring these elements first:
- Group size – The number of adults and children travelling (work out the children's ages at time of travel as prices may vary)
- Travel dates – Are you travelling in the school holidays? Or prefer to keep it cheap and travel at off-peak times? Standard products are seven nights long, departing on either Saturday or Sunday. Travelling for a shorter time or during the week will limit the availability of some resorts and properties, and it's usually not cheaper than going for a whole weekend-to-weekend.
- Choosing the perfect ski resort – tell us if there's a specific country you prefer and the abilities of your group, and we'll suggest the most appropriate ski areas – we wouldn't want a group of beginners to go to a resort full of steep slopes!
- Accommodation type and key features – would you prefer a chalet, hotel or apartment? Do you have any essential features like a hot tub, location close by slopes or childcare facilities?
- Your budget – once you start researching, you will get an idea of how much your ideal vacation will cost. If it's more expensive than expected, you may have to be more flexible with your dates, choice of resort, or accommodation type.
